Club Competitions
The club enters external competitions with other local clubs and the competition secretary will announce when these are coming up and ask for work to be put forward for possible selection as part of the clubs entry. Competitions include the Midland Counties Photographic Federation (MCPF)’s Print and Slide Championship in February. The winner of these competitions go on to represent the MCPF at the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) Club Championships held in July and October.
Exhibitions
Exhibitions are in the main individual entry and the entrants own responsibility to organise. Where there is a local collection point and a member is prepared to organise the transport, this will be announced at meetings, but entries may have to be handed in well in advance of the closing dates.
Details for many of Exhibitions are available on the internet or through the organising clubs or federations.
Exhibitions that are patronised by the British Photographic Exhibitions (BPE) and FIAP are listed on each organisations website (see links page). The Committee does not receive entry forms from every exhibition but where it does, they will make them available to the members on the notice board.
Photographic Letters
Letters are awarded by different amateur photographic organisations, Royal Photographic Society (RPS) Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) and Federation International de l’Art photographique –FIAP. Each organisation has its own method of awarding their letters and details of how can be found on each organisation’s web pages (see glossary page)
